GensCura strives to elevate impact by fusing technology, innovation, oral history archiving, art, and advocacy. Creating transformative products, amplifying voices with art and writing, and developing solutions that enhance societal well-being reflect my relentless efforts in raising awareness about stroke, promoting technological innovation and social improvements to help seniors lead better lives.
Innovation and Technology
Finger Exoskeleton
Many seniors especially stroke patients struggled with finger mobility.
A hand exoskeleton system to assist individuals with motor impairments in neuromuscular training and self-rehabilitation. This project focused on enhancing the exoskeleton’s Degrees of Freedom, improving finger strength, and increasing the precision of individual joint movements, ultimately empowering users with greater control and independence.

Brain-Driven Rehabilitation System
Many stroke patients not only lose manual movement but also their ability to speak. This system is designed to be lightweight, ultra-low-cost, and widely accessible, to remove the limitations of requiring specialized clinical settings and empowering patients to regain independence in their recovery journey.
NewNestia
Arizona has long been an attractive destination, drawing hundreds of thousands of new residents every year. Its sunny weather and renowned medical institutions have made it particularly appealing to seniors looking to relocate and settle down.
To support these new residents, especially seniors, a mobile app was designed to help them easily access local resources for daily life, healthcare support, social services, and more.

Art as an Advocation Tool
Just as young people, seniors use social media to connect with their friends and relatives. They enjoy closeness and camaraderie through sharing pictures and comments on the platforms, which allows them to resist isolation and promote socialization.
On the other hand, the senior user base is often overlooked during the design of new technologies, apps, or devices. Even if you are tech-savvy or computer-literate, you may face technical obstacles sometimes. Those difficulties can seem enormous and impossible for seniors who did not grow up with iPads and smartphones. Often my grandparents struggle and ask for my help when software interfaces are updated or social media platforms are re-configured.
While committed to reinvigorating the technologies with new features, the designers of websites and apps should keep the older population in mind.

These innovations and creations have been widely awarded and acknowledged. The most rewarding part is seeing how advocacy through technology, art, and humanity has come together to help those in need.
